The Building Department is responsible for enforcing the California construction and energy codes by reviewing building plans and issuing construction permits for any construction and demolition that takes place within the Town. Most projects require a permit of some kind. This is necessary to ensure that all buildings meet the minimum standards to protect their occupants and neighbors.
The Building Division is also responsible for the issuance of a residential record (resale) report before the sale of any house. Town ordinance requires a records report and site inspection prior to the sale of any residence.
